Porton Biopharma appoints new Non Executive Director

We are pleased to announce that we have appointed Nigel Brooksby as a new Non Executive Director to the PBL Board.  Nigel will take up his position from June and brings to the Board his considerable knowledge and experience in biopharmaceuticals and life-sciences.

Nigel is a Member of the UK Government’s Industrial Advisory Board which advises the Secretary of State for Business and his Ministers on applications for investment and a Board Member of the Cogent Skills Sector Council (SSC), the UK’s industry skills body for pharmaceutical, nuclear, petroleum, polymers and life sciences businesses. Nigel is also a member of the South Australian Health Industries Advisory Board.

Previously he held senior Global Appointments at Wellcome (now GlaxoSmithKline), Pfizer and Sanofi. He has worked internationally based in Europe, the USA, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa.

Nigel is a past President of the Association of the British Pharmaceutical industry (ABPI) and was honoured as a Lifetime Member in recognition of his services to the Life Sciences. He is a past Member of the CBI’s President’s Committee and is the current Chairman of the Pharmaceutical Directors Club (PDC), a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a Friend of the Royal College of Physicians.

He holds several Academic, Charity and Life Sciences Chairmanships and Senior Board positions, which include the Clinical Trials Unit at Imperial College London, advising the Wellcome Trust, a Visiting Lecturer of the Singapore Management University and a Trustee of the Global Loulou Foundation.
