Freedom Of Information
How we will handle your FOI request
FOI requests must be made in writing and must include your name and an email or postal address for reply. Please describe clearly the information you are looking for. It is possible that the information you seek may already be published and, before making a request, you should check whether the information you require is already published.
You can e-mail your request to firstname.lastname@example.org or write to us at
Porton Biopharma Limited
Manor Farm Road
When you send an FOI request to us we will acknowledge receipt, usually by email, within three working days.
You can normally expect to receive our full reply to your FOI request within 20 working days. This timescale may need to be extended if a qualified exemption is being considered. If this is the case we will keep you informed and give you an estimated date by which you can expect to receive our reply.
We may need to contact you to clarify your request. Where this is the case, the clock counting down to the 20 working day deadline will stop, and will start again once we have the clarification we need to continue to process your request.
The fees regulations under the FOI Act say that requests should be processed without any charge unless the cost involved (including the time it takes to identify, search for and retrieve the information) exceeds £450. If we think the cost of processing your FOI request will exceed this limit, we are not obliged to proceed with it. However, where appropriate we will make contact with you to help you narrow down the scope of the request.
If you are not happy with how we have handled your FOI request, you can ask for an internal review. We aim to complete internal reviews within 20 working days. If we think it will take a little longer than this, we will let you know.
If, following an internal review, you remain dissatisfied with how we have handled your request, you can appeal to the Information Commissioner either online at www.ico.org.uk or by post to: The Information Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.
